Lightbulb Vortec Heads?

Did anyone put vortec heads on their LT-1? Do they work well with the Lt-1?

Vortec heads are intended for "Gen 1" small block Chevy's. The LT1 is a "Gen 2" engine, and uses reverse cooling and a different coolant flow pattern through the head. The only way you could put Vortec heads on an LT1 would be to weld up a redrill some of the passages. And when you were all done, I doubt they would be any better than the stock LT1 heads.

what about other sbc gen 1 heads. is it more costly than its worth to adapt them I mean there are some 15 degree heads that flow like 330 from brodix on the intake side as opposed to what 210 from the lt1. I know flow numbers dont tell all but damn theve got to be better. Maybe another prob is the lack of an EFI manifold to adapt to the heads and having to buy even more parts to convert to a carb setup? Does what im saying make sense? lol
