Question Vortech Intake Elbow...worth it?

Just what it says....i have a rip in my oem one and i was going to by a 1LE from a dealer...my buddy works there and can get me a good deal but should i just get the vortech one....and if so will it fit no prob....i mean it says will work with most cold air kits...but i don't see how it would be a prob...the elbow connects to the maf then the CAI so i don't see how it says most cold air kits but anywho....any info would be appreciated.

IMO it was woth it.
1. Looks nice under the hood.
2. Works with CAI... (it comes with a piece to connect the MAF to the elbow).
3. It will fit fine, unless you have a Holley air foil... then you'll have to modify it a bit... not sure about Jet.
Other than that it'll be fine. You might want to look in to the Trick Flow elbow. There is no issue with the air foil, and seems to be the same as Vortech.

just fyi
I had both the Vortech and now the Trickflow elbows.
The polished Vortech looks 100% better than the ceramic coated Trickflow, if you are going for looks... but in the other hand, the TF hasn't got the center divider and is much more plug&play, comes with holes and grommets for the IAT sensor, plus it's a bit cheaper than the other one. I don't think there's a difference performance wise...
You decide

Get the trick flow. If you ever decide to run n2o its a lot easier on the trick flow without the center divider

The polished vortech can look pretty nice. I think it's worth the extra $20...

your airfoil is fully functional...leave it on your car it is worth it... the vortech also helps with airflow(especially on upper end) because of it not having ripples in it like the stock or 1le elbow...matched with a cai it is a very nice combination....

thats just my 2centz...

later
