wabro install...1 problem

hey,
Just finished Racetronic Walbro 255 install with plug and play harness.
Everything went great except now my gas hand in way beyond full and I know the car does not have a full tank on gas.
Also...I have one yellow 20 fuse left over from the install.
Can anyone tell me what my problem could be?

-Tim

P.S. You can drill your holes for trap door method a whole lot quicker if you have the drill turning clockwise and not in reverse like I did the whole time except for 3 holes.

Thanks,
How long will it take to reset itself and should I fill the car all the way up.
Should I drive the car daily until it does, because normally, I drive the 1-2 times a week.

It won't reset itself. Mine is still goofy from when I put mine in a year ago.
If you want to try to true it up I'm sure you can fandangle it somehow. I can't be bothered since mine isn't too bad.

Re: wabro install...1 problem

There's nothing to "reset".... its a simple rheostat (variable resistance) and connected directly to the gauge. Sounds like the float may be caught on something, or you didn't reconnect the wire fully. Worst problem would be a faulty sender. The sender is not available as a separate part. You have to buy the entire fuel pump mounting assembly for about $250.

Re: wabro install...1 problem

when my fuel pump was put in, the gauge read way above fuel, i mean like more than when i top off. something wasn't plugged in right and then the gauge was reading the usualy above full when i top off but would never go down, the floater was stuck on something, so we did the trap door method and fixed the floater and now everything is fine.

i have the racetronix pump and harness installed.

Re: wabro install...1 problem

Thanks,
I'll go back and check the floater and wires again some time next week. The sender was in great working condition before the new pump install.

Take Care,

-Tim
