Weird cooling system problem, need some help (lots of pics)

Ok, I tried to search but I don't really know what this problem may even be so I couldn't do a very good one. So here it goes;

Last Monday I blew out a radiator hose. I replaced it, refilled and bled the system on Tuesday but didn't drive the car again until Friday. Friday I start the car and go across campus to where my boss's office is to get my paycheck. I pull up (maybe two blocks) and I smell some burning coolant. I figure it's just some of the coolant that got on the engine that is burning off and don't worry about it. I leave the car running for maybe.... 3-4 minutes while I'm talking with my boss and getting my paycheck. I then go back to my apartment and pack up my stuff into the T/A for my trip home for the weekend. I figure that since my car has been running for a while I might as well pop the hood and top off the coolant if it needs it. I pop the hood (while the car is still running and has been running for the past 15-20 minutes) to check the overflow tank and notice this:

Wow, not good! I didn't trust the car to make the hour and a half trip home and just went home for the weekend with a friend. On the way down we went over what it may be and I figured maybe it was just a seized thermostat. I just happened to have another 180 degree thermostat and figured I would just swap it in. I get back this morning and when I pop the hood to change out the thermostat I see this:

Ok.... wtf? So I go ahead and swap out the thermostat and refill / bleed the system (defrost + heater on full blast) and I notice this:

All coming from behind the front passenger wheel well:

I dipped my fingers in it and smelled it and it has no smell and looks like water....but that is a ton of water....Also, my passenger side floor is a little damp, but it doesn't smell like antifreeze it just looks and smells like water. I put that on the backburner for a minute to let my car warm up to check on the hose and it's doing it again! It's ballooning up to two or three times it's normal size like in the first picture! So....anyone have any ideas? Any at all? Because I am completely stumped....

Get a piece of heater hose and jump the 2 heater hoses together. Watch it close for a couple of days and see if ya are loosing water. If not it IS the heater core.

I just don't see how a bad heater core would cause that coolant hose to balloon up like that. Also, the water that was running down the driveway is clear and clean, it's not coolant.

I had the heater on the first time when I refilled and drained the system. But when I checked it again, I was just running the A/C. It did it regardless of what I did.

The water on the drive could be the air. As far as a hose blowing up,if it don't have too much pressure (psi 30 or over) I would say its a bad hose even if it is new,
Have you had the heater lines off? If so maybe try swapping them.

This IS a weird problem.

I apologize, I should have been more clear. The hose that blew out on monday that I replaced was a different hose:

This is driving me crazy, lol

try repalcing to rad cap . and i think you need a water pump . not because it's leaking but because it sounds like it's not pumping

what happens when you leave to rad cap off and let it run . the more i think about it it sounds like the rad cap not working . if it doesnt relase the pressure as it cools it'll suck the hose right down .and if it dosent open to let the coolant frow back to the tank it would cause the system to over pressure

That hose that ballooned is failed. Replace it, too.

Even in full hot setting on the temperature ****, if you are in an a/c mode the compressor will still turn on and drip condensate (water) under the car. Your pic of water is not more than my a/c can make in a 10 minute idle on a humid day, so maybe that's all it is.

Well, the waterpump was replaced back in December. Besides, if the waterpump wasn't pumping how would it build up the pressure? I figure it would just let the coolant sit and overheat.

When I let it run with the cap off, it just overflows all over the place.

Yea, I'm going to go ahead and replace the hose and the radiator cap tomorrow and see what happens. Hopefully the hose was just stretched out when the old therm stuck and now the pressure of the system just blows it back up. I mean, I drove it a bit today (needed to, only a few blocks) and it ran fine. It warmed up like normal and didn't overheat and just acted like nothing was wrong. I figure if I put a new one on and it starts to do the same thing then I'll know I'm in trouble!

How old is that radiator hose that balloned up?
The water dripping onto the ground could be condensation from your A/C. Perhaps it was clogged and became unclogged? That's the only other thing in that area which is water related other than your heater hose lines.
