Unhappy Weird Problem with the Z.........getting worse!

I have this problem with my car that whenever i drive it for about 45mins or 10mins on the express way it'll start strugling to take off from a stop. After i get around 2,500RPM then it'll take off but before that it'll take about 10-15secs to get up to like 30mpg..........well anyway its getting worse, now if i drive for about 15-20mins and about 5 on the expressway it'll do it agian and it'll take slower to pick up speed. All i have to do is turn off the car for about 15mins and it'll be all good again. I noticed that when im on the expressway and doing 70mpg it shows 3,000rpm and if i let go of the gas the rpm will take a FAST plunge to 1,000rpm and if i floor the gas pedal the engine will rev but it wont take off until i get to 2,500rpm after that i'll take off like normal. Does anybody have any ideas or suggestions as to what this could be?

i know this aint gonna sound the way i want it to sound but here it goes

Are you absoluelty possitive that the opti would cause this? Has this happend to your car and as soon as you changed it, your car worked?

Oh yea btw what is the opti?

seriously i have no idea what it is

lol no problem man, i was there at one point and everyone else was!!
but yea right now my car has a bad chopping problem..i jsut changed out my opti with another one i got a few months ago and some coolant leaked on it and it went out in like 4 days, so i ordered a 600$ one that should last for a long goo dwhile and is water proof..opti can cause a # of things...here are a few that i can think of!
#1 causes car to stumble and bog out when throttle is giving
#2 causes car to idle real rough
#3 causes car to lose half the power its suppose to give
#4 (what im getting now) feels like the car is running off like 4 pistons, which makes the engine shake real bad at idle and take off till about 2500 rpms
#5 can cause what your car is having now
those are the ones i can think of now, but an optispark is a DISTRIBUTOR for our cars!! if any thing wet touches it it can crap on you in a matter of hours!!
the optis are a lil expensive 200$ but if i was you, just let other people reply to this to see what responses you get!
hope this helps
randy

try your coil, everyone jumps to say Opti. I was told my opti took a crap too, but it was old plugs, wires and coil.

well, i changed my wires and spark plugs along with the LT's install. How much will a new coil cost me? if its cheap i'll change the coil and opti.

check all your vacumn lines mine used to do pretty much exactly the same thing mine wouldnt spin em off the line till about 2500 rpm, i changed plugs and wires and it'll roast em threw 2nd now, i say try doing plugs, and maybe wires again if i were you how many horror storys i hear or pissed off people because they spend so much on a opti and it doesnt fix there problem.
