Unhappy Weird Stalling issue

Ok here is the problem. I replaced my lt1 with a new one and the car has been amazing. but now the car will stall at about the same distance every time. it will sit over night and i can drive about 14 miles and it will die instantly. No sputter no nothing it just shuts off. i parked it for the day and drove it home. it died as i pulled into the driveway. it has done this for 2 days in a row i drove around town for almost exactly the same distance and speed and it died. I replaced the fuel filter since i bought the car and that has been awhile and to be honest the day before this all started i was running it really hard. when it is running i runs just as great but just shuts off. I bought a new filter going to replace it here in a few minutes but was wondering if anyone had any other ideas just incase.

Re: Weird Stalling issue

Have you checked for codes? Have you checked the fuel pressure?

Think of things that can "break down" when they heat up - IC Module, optical cam position module in the Opti, fuel pump.

You might want to add a "signature" with the basic info on your car - year, model, engine, trans and any major mods. Knowing that info helps people help you .

And let's move this to "LT1 Based Engine Tech".

Re: Weird Stalling issue

Sorry about that I edited it for ya. I replaced the filter and I notice there is a really high pitched whine. I have replaced almost every component in the car it is a 95 Z28 LT1 engine has 2900 miles tranny is at 5800 miles. The whine goes away when I rev the engine and almost immediately comes back on when I let off. It is the first time hearing the noise. I know what the fuel pump sounds like it comes on to prime during start up. This is almost like the fuel pump is straining if i was to guess. The last time it died the whining was going on and off several times. I am going to jump the relay and see if it is the pump dying when it starts to warm up. I have over 1/2 a tank of gas so I know I have fuel. I just ran into this problem a couple of days ago. I went to the auto parts store here and they didn't carry a fuel pressure tester or OBD I w/ OBD II connector in stock I have to run to another store tomorrow when I get a chance I will post the readings when I get them. The car runs like a champ but will shut off as soon as get the same distance every time it is the weirdest thing ever.

There is a connector near the PCM that allows you to bypass the fuel pump relay and the PCM interface:

Re: Weird Stalling issue

Ok here is a new twist to the problem (by the way I order fuel pressure tester and I am going to order a obd reader) I drove the car the other day to see if it was the fuel filter. I drove the car and it died at the exact same spot as it did before. I let it set for a couple of hours and drove it home and it died pulling into the drive way. basically I would assume I can go 8.5 miles and it will die. I dont think it would be a fuel problem since there is no hesitation and the car shuts off. None of the lights come on and I checked no security light I built a permanent bypass for the VATS system. I know the bulb is good I just replaced my dash and all the lights before the engine replacement. I am getting frustrated and I am running out of parts to replace. But I am starting to think its in the ignition system but everything in that is less then a year old. The SES did come on when it shutdown but I have to save to buy one. The other question I have can I use the Actron CP9145 on my car The manual says I can It is a OBD I with a OBD II connector. It comes with that cable so I thought I should be able to use it out of the box as it comes.
