What cam for torque?

What cam for torque?
I want to have a ton of torque, hp is obviously good, but what cam gives the best torque with stock heads?
I will have a 3k stall also, so I don't want it too low. What would be a good cam?

BINGO! The 211/219 .533/.560 is on a 112 lsa and is fantastic as well as the 219/219 .560/.560...both are outstanding cams...I had the 211/219 in my 383 for years and it was great...I would have gone with the 219/219 when we changed cams, but I got in touch with Joe Overton and decided to try something different...The LPE cams work very very well...

I'm not touching a cam until I get most bolt ons, but what kind of torque are these suggested cams going to put down? Also what kind of hp? I don't want to rev past 6300 at all and I'm a torque freak anyway.

that would be about the gist (+cam) I want 350+ish hp and 400+ torque. Possible??

I'm looking at the cc503 myself. My car is in sig, and my torque curve is flat as hell. 294 ft lbs from bout 2k to 351 at bout 3600, and only droops back down to bout 310 at 5500. So I'm hoping it will keep that awesome curve.
My only question is how streetable is the cc503? I've heard its one of the better mannered cams out there. I know I got high hopes keepin that curve while adding more power/torque AND keeping it streetable, AND using stock heads... but I wanna try.

Getting 400+ torque with stock bottom end and heads seems a little unrealistic to me. Even with a nice heads/cam combo the peak torque numbers ive seen on 350s are more in the 360-380 lb-ft range.

A mildly modded GTP makes 70wtq over stock EASILY. This is no cam and no heads. Both stock. How can the LT1 not acheive this?! Sure A gtp is boosted, but still. 370 is only 100 ftlbs. over BONE stock.

stock bottom end, gm846, ported heads: 374rwhp, 359rwtq
355 bottom end, hotcam, ported heads: 380rwhp, 353rqtw (STD corr)
stock bottom end, cc306, stock heads: 368rwhp, 366rwtq
stock bottom end, LE custom cam, LE2 heads:405rwhp, 371rwtq (speed_demon24's setup from above)
383 bottom end, cc305, ported heads: 365rwhp, 387rwtq
Dont get me wrong, i want the same thing as you pretty much, i dont care about a big hp number -- just want that huge torque. Even with a LT1 stroker you wont get a huge peak torque number (although area under the curve will greatly improve). FI might be a better route for you if you really want to hit that number though.

Well, hopefully someone will chime in and back me up, i just went through the dyno sheets i have lying around to give you a ball park estimate of the tq you could make. Here are some examples (these all have full boltons and were SAE corrected unless otherwise noted ):

The more I read about the CC306 the more it seems like my kinda cam tho. On your chart it has high hp AND torque. I think I have my choice.

Yeah, if its one thing I've noticed over the past 12 years messing with the LT1s its that you should not get too hung up on dyno numbers...Dynos are great tuning tools, but are not a substitute for the track mph...You'd laugh at my Mustang dyno numbers...
