What convertor for 650 rwhp w/4l60e ???

What are the big dogs running for a torque convertor? I've got a 3200 Torco and it's just not up to the job. Is the Vig good for that much hp?

Thanks in advance, TJ

I would go with a Vig for that puppy. I have also heard good things about the TCI unit.....Just do not buy one of there crappy transmissions

Good luck!

i would go with a vig if i were u. but i was under the impression that a 4l60 wouldnt take that much power. i have a buddy that is running a 383 with one (dynoed 380RWHP) and the tranny would not make the 2-3 shift or 1-2 shift, with OBD1 or OBD2. most of the big dogs are running TH350/TH400's that are auto's

I would definitely go with a Vigilante or a Yank.

Ur going to want to run a 9.5 in converter for the sake of durability and performance when u get into that high of HP on a 4L60e.

I have had very good luck with my Yank. I am making around 400rwhp and now trying to run a 225 shot and the Yank is holding up fine. Alan

An FLP trans will hold that no problem, they have several cars w/ their level 4 trans running 9's! www.flp2win.com

ok some shops have figured how to make the weak 4l60e last longer but no way will a 4l60e do it very long the best and most sturdy trans is the th-400 just take a look at the planitaries of all auto's and that alone will give you an answer

I got 56k on my 4L60e..not that I beat on it much.

If everyone believed in planet size you would not see them running those POS 2004Rs much...but they do

ANY transmission you run if your going to race it much should be freashened once a year or every 150-200 passes

Tony: what do you mean by "not up to the job"? What is your current converter doing that you need to replace it? Do you want a lockup converter or non-lock up?

It's way too loose on the street. The car doesn't get moving until 2500 and then its still slipping. It also slips at WOT. I'd like a lockup convertor, but have an open mind. Even though the car has monstor power, it's primarily still a street car. I'd like it to move through traffic without having to go Nascar at every stop light. I think this particular convertor has always been pretty loose, even before the buildup.
