What to do with computer when tranny is gone?
My cousin is putting a 94 LT1 and wiring into a 92 S-10 pick-up for the tranny we'll be using a non electrical tranny behind it. What do I do with the computer , does it need to be fooled that the tranny is there? or do w just cover the plug and let it be?

It ran like crap. Idle was way low and it was setting codes. I think it is because i did all the mods in my sig at the same time with the T-56 conversion so the computer didnt know what was going on. I got a tune from Ion and it runs like a champ now.

Limp mode affects the tranny, but not the engine if I remember correctly.
It may be cheaper to buy a used pcm from an A4 car than to have it programmed. I've picked them up for $75.

Yeah, it will run fine but, just throw codes (check engine light). If you don't have the check engine light where you can see it I wouldn't worry about doing anything.

Just cover the plug. If your going to a Non electric trany liek a TH 350, there is nothing to really do. Swapping to an M6 trans will mean you have to change things due to the tables being different. If it's a standard vaccum control trans, don't even bother with the program unless you don't want to see an SES light, which I doubt you will even have in an S10 swap
