What to do for upgrade..

Re: What to do for upgrade..
I would but long tube headers, get a Cut-out exhaust (and leave stock muffler...) Intake and a good tune.... or you could go the easy route with a 150hp shot of nitrous.

I am fixing to get a set of long tube headers and y pipe. The car has a cold air intake and magnaflow cat back other than that its stock. I am looking to make a sleeper i guess a good weekend car but maybe a goal of trying to make it a 400hp car.

Add a "Signature" with basic info about your car - year, model, engine, trans and any major mods. That way people can help you without asking a lot of questions.
If you have a 93, as someone might guess from your screen name, there are some significant differences compared to all other years of the LT1.

I will update my sig as i am new user. The 93 actually was my race car number i used when i raced. I actually have a 96 z28 its an automatic but i am considering changing that to a 6 speed. The car is basicly stock except for a cold air intake and magnaflow cat back. I will be adding long tubes and a otr y pipe in the next few weeks..

Re: What to do for upgrade..
Are the LTs and the ORY coming out of the $1500? Either way, get rid of emmissions if you can, you're gunna need a tune for the LTs if you go with no emmision headers. Start looking at rear suspension components, eventually your power will become useless if you can't put the rubber to the road.

No the 1500 is seperate from the purchase of the headers. I am considering a le2 head and cam package what do you guys think. We have emmisions here so i got to keep that unfortunatly.

Re: What to do for upgrade..
Look at the specific emmision requirements for where you live. Do you think you can still pass with LE2 H&C? Start doing the free mods. Definately get a tune. Depending on your miles, look at replacing the Opti with a better quality one. You'd be suprised how much gets lost when that thing gets old. Personally, I did brakes and some of my suspension work first. Got some money together, doing a full front suspension rebuild, puting beehive springs in and RRs, LTs w/3" polished stainless dual exhaust, tune, and just some under carriage cleaning.

I'm no help when it comes to the upgrade part being I want answers myself but if u happen to live in so cal there's ways around emmisions... u hav to " pay ur way out " of it... but if ur willing to pay around 150 to pass its worth it... nd even if not in cali I'm SURE there's places willing... jus suggesting...
