What gaskets DON't need RTV????

What gaskets DON't need RTV????
Throwing my motor back together and some guys put RTV on stuff that some don't. Just wanted your guys opinion. What gaskets really DON't need any or shouldn't have any?

I used RTV spareingly on my EGR hose because i didn't have another gasket. Front and back of the intake manifold. I also put a dab in the corners of where the oilpan seal meets the timing cover and where i partially tore my oilpan seal
Everywhere else i used conventional gaskets on CLEAN surfaces
People tend to think more is better and then it squirts out when you bolt stuff down and gets into your oil passages ect, don't do that

what about using spray on sealant on some of the gaskets? when i just did my intake manifold gaskets i used some copper spray on sealant because i heard you can have leaking sometimes between ports. i probably didnt have to worry about this and i'm sure this is more true about higher compression motors. however, i didnt see that it would hurt anything and i would rather be safe than sorry. just personal preference.

No gasket needs RTV, .... RTV (Ultra Copper) the front and back of the intake, and the header gaskets, put the rest on dry, you can copper coat (spray) the head gaskets ......JMHO
After being a engine builder for over 29 years we learned a lot about what to use and what not to use, again JMHO !
Many things don't even need a gasket, RTV works just fine, Notice that the factory is going to useing more RTV then in the past, I myself only use Ultra Gray or Ultra Copper, both work very well
The best advice anyone can give another doing any type of work with gaskets is, Use The Torque Specs Even For The Smallest Of Parts!!!!
