It's totally dependent on who you have build it. However, Eagle parts are known to be the bottom of the barrel as far as quality is concerned.

By the way, swing by Ricky's. Take a peek.

650ish rwhp, some have done more with no problem some have done less... I have that setup on a 355... It also depends on NA, Boost, or N2O....

Its a crap shoot half the time anyways, If the engine is forged it should be able to handle at least 650.

Whose putting it together? The engine builder will be very imporatant.

Did you already buy the parts or can you change any of them?

Visit www.cpengines.com. If you like what you see give me a call. We offer a 2 year warranty on all performance engines and it takes the guess work out of the mix.
If you have already bought parts, that OK. We can evaluate what you have and give our professional opinion.

I was told the Eagle Forged I-beams are rated at only 550hp. Thats why I went with the H-beams. I was worried if I sprayed the motor with too big of a shot its might be past the 550hp rating of the I-beams. My builder told me the H-beams a rated at 700hp. Remember a well built 383 should make an easy 450hp @ the flywheel. So if you put a little 125 shot on it your nearly at 600hp.

Well I already have the motor I bought it as a long block it has 1000 miles on it with a set of le2 heads. I picked it up at a really good price. I'm going to have it looked over and we will upgrade anything that needs it. He parted his car out due to tough times and needed the cash bad.

is it a 2 bolt or 4 bolt splayed? or factory 4 bolt? that will determine your power capabilities more then the forged bottom end.

the i beams are going to be your weakest link with the eagle pieces, since their I beams only use a 3/8" bolt and are made from 5140 steel. the scat pro comp i beams are worlds better and use a 7/16" cap screw like all the h beam designs and are forged in 4340. those rods will be good for 500hp area, but if you want more hp potential, swap them out for some h beams or quality i beams. the eagle crank is fine as long as its forged, they also use 4340 steel. the cap screw in the rods is the limiting factor. h beams with upgraded bolts can take 1000+hp
