I have a gutted cat and no mufflers with dual 3" outlets. It sounds good. Not the loudest exhaust Ive heard but it is the loudest LT1 exhaust Ive ever heard. I live on FL line above Panama City so come hear it. I'll meet ya if it isnt too far.

I have jet hot lts, hooker off road y-pipe, about a foot of 3" diameter piping, a dynomax bullet(the short one), and a turn down right before the rear end. With the CC306(one of the best sounding cams out there) it sounds like an old drag car. If only the bite was as bad as the bark.

slp loudmouth is very loud, and sounds great on a stock car...when or if u decide to add a set of LT's however, u will probably want to quiet it down some by welding a bullet muffler in there or something.

Loudest LT1 exhaust............I'd have to say open long tubes. Anyone know of anything louder?
I was a bit jealous that my brother's 94 Z has a LM exhaust while mine just has a Magnaflow...That's until I put my DMH in Now he's the jealous one

As for loud, long tube headers, and the SLP Loudmouth is probably the loudest. Some say it is a little "ricey" as it tends to pop and snap alot. Personally, I suggest using the stock piping, and installing a Dynomax bullet muffler, also known as the Dynomouth. Much cheaper than replacing the entire exhaust system with SLP's. Not bad for every day driving, and really gets loud when you nail the throttle.

It doesnt make it legal to gut them but it doesnt make it illegal too either. So actually he can gut them.
