He said a used one off of an S10 because they are looser than the stock f-body converters and they are cheap and easy to find.

Don't drive fast in the rain with the air scoop. It'll get the filter all wet.

Free mods or close to free mods as follows

1) TB coolent bypass ($5)
2) Skip shift elimination (free on 93-95 camaro)
3) MAF descreening (free)
4) Intake Air Temp sensor relocation ($5)
5) Gutting the cat (cost depends on how you do it)

Total HP gain is probably around 5 or 6 maybe more.

Some say it is a restriction, although small. There are a lot of threads on this subject, do a search.

It really doesn't. Not on a 4th gen anyways. Leave the screen in. The screen evenly directs the airflow through the MAF. As anaik was saying, there are tons of posts about it, saying to leave it in.

With minimal searching, I found a pretty large thread for free mods.

Sorry, what I ment to say was get a NEW S-10 converter from somewhere. Too much work to do even though its free to put in a high wear high heat part lke that. If you got a car for like say 1k, then yea, I would throw on e in there for a while, maybe, if i had a 3 day weekend and a lot of beer

What backside? It's been a LONG time since I've seen a screened MAF, but I thought they were just installed on the side facing the airbox.
