Re: what oil filter u runnin?

AC Delco #PF454 is the short one. I run one because of oil cooler adapter. Then you can tell everyone you have a 454 in your car!

Re: what oil filter u runnin?

Im running an AC delco, thier cheap and good quality. I don't understand why people pay $10+ on an oil filter when the delco works just fine.

K&N HP 3002, its about the best filter you can get for the LT1. $8.99 from Thunderracing, or $9.99 on the shelf at Pep Boys. And the extra money is worth it to me for the sweet 1" socket fitting alone Seriously, it is a very well made filter.

K&N here too... Great filtration and doesn't choke. $9 every 6k-8k miles (German Castrol) is dirt cheap insurance to me.

No, the HP 2002 is the short one, the 3002 is about 25% longer. They are the same price so I dont see any reason in getting the 2002. You get more filtering area with the 3002.

Talking Re: what oil filter u runnin?

I run a k&n as I have read many times that the lt1 engines need oil flow, and the k&n is the highest flowing filter there is as compared to most others. I have 184k on my engine, and it is still a good running engine. Now running synthetic oll I'm sure also helps. Sure the gm oil filters rate well, but I feel l I want to do all I can to ensure there is always good oil pressure to my engine. I also change my oil anally, to ensure it is also clean. Doing these two things will get the mileage out of your engine.

later

Re: what oil filter u runnin?

I have FLP's on mine and have to use the stock short filter. A longer filter will rest against the collector on my car. I figure this will transfer heat from the collector to the oil filter. Don't need that.
