As in multiples? possible, yet not without some exhaust work, the dual cat cars where the 95 California cars, and the 96+ for everyone else.... And dual Flowmasters? On stock exhaust.. Hope that was a typo
Oh, and I didn't mean dual Flowmasters. I meant the Flowmaster 40's series. Sorry.

Tell him to put the crack pipe down and buy a Civic. If you are going to imagine horsepower, you might as well do it with a rice-mobile so you don't give the rest of us a bad name.

Only thing is, ricers know they don't have that power and they lie. I really honestly think he believes his car has that much power. He is just ignorant. Doesn't know any better. Still makes him a moron though.

That's true a lot, but not all the time man. I had a guy who thought his stock DX Civic would do 11s in the 1/4 mile and he would waste my Z28. He actually believed this, even as we lined up. Normally I wouldn't waste the gas, but this guy had to be shown the truth. Needless to say, it was bad, he was probably at the 1/8 when I was finishing the 1/4. Some of these ricers have this "Japanese cars are the best" mentality that they can't see the truth. Sad.

I will admit, that before buying my Firebird, I had never really thought about horsepower. I thought that the 285 hp rating for my car was rear wheel, so I started looking at mods and figuring up my possible power levels.

I soon learned that this was a flywheel rating, as well as learned about drivetrain losses and such.

So it is possible that this person just doesn't understand.

I can speak from experience that the CAI / exhaust difference though, I gained 26 with my SLP CAI and Magnaflow..

So I'd estimate him to be between 265 and 270 RWHP.

If this guy is confused and just doesn't know, then I wouldn't embarass him. But, if he knows this stuff and just plain doesn't care that he's talking stupid, then by all means embarass him.

Nah, he knows the difference between hp at the wheels and at the flywheel. He says he has around 360 at the wheels and 400 base hp. He's just obsessed with his Hypertech and thinks that it's a godly machine for his car. I was always told that the Hypertech chip didn't do shiznit. He's got just a bunch of Hypercrap stuff...chip, HPP, and 160 therm. His homemade CAI isn't even a good one. It doesn't reach all the way down to the splashguard. It's like those crappy ones you see on eBay.

I have a 1994. Back when I had the Hypertech tuner it slowed me down by retarding the timing. When I dumped their tuning I went faster.

For real? Dang. Is Hypertech really that bad? I mean, does it give any gains whatsoever? I always knew Hypertech wasn't a big deal, but is it really just a piece of crap?

I'll let you know what happens, and I'll let you know how much hp my car is making when this guy pays for my dyno run.

i love it when people make outrageous hp claims like that... when you ask them how they came up with the figure they start adding the "estimated" hp up from every mod they installed on the car.
