Re: What size injectors are you running? Poll

42# at stock pressure. Havent dyno tuned yet, got to fix a zilloin things first. Go big or go home

Jokes aside, with the pcm able to control for any injector size, there is no harm in going bigger than necessary (except cost), better safe than sorry, and better not to have to change injectors again, if more power adder is needed.

Re: What size injectors are you running? Poll

I posted this same poll on 3 different forums and it is VERY interesting , especially reasons, or lack of.

Please share the result with me.. I think no body has an idea about fuel requirement of his engine.. Everybody uses different size of injectors, also people who got same bhp use different size.. Its ironic

Re: What size injectors are you running? Poll

I also have Ractronix 37# injectors. I choose that high in case I ever NEEDED more injector I would have it. Fuel pressure is 43.5. Dyno is a little iffy, it was on a land-sea dyno............the first 2 pulls were 200.0 and 199.4, then they figured out they forgot to change the tire size from the Z06 that dyno'd 15 minutes before me.......3rd pull 370.XX RWHP. The Z06 right before me put down 299.XX. So is that my true power? I don't know.

The poll is to see what people are useing, and why, what combos etc, data really helps, via scanning software. I think that that shows how your cars engine is really performing. A dyno helps, but along with that a Wideband sensor for A/F ratio and scanning software. This really tells allot of the things about how the WHOLE motor is running.

Re: What size injectors are you running? Poll

42# matched injectors, stock fuel pressure. Didn't dyno with heads/cam/blower, but car put down over 400 rwhp on stock heads/cam/blower. According to Datamaster, injector duty cycle was 60% @ 4800 RPM last time I scanned the car.

Re: What size injectors are you running? Poll

37 Lb delphis running them at 50 psi. So far 454 rwhp NA and not tuned yet. Had SVO 30s but they were running at 95-100 percent at the same hp but at 44 psi. I threw more pressure at them and they didn't like it for some reasonl and a/f was all over the place. I was running below 80 percent at 44 psi on the delphis on the same exact tune as the 30s.

Re: What size injectors are you running? Poll

I'm using 42SVO

With the lowest boost pulley I have the car makes 480rwhp / 455rwtq threw a 6-speed. The AFR's look real good but start to lift over 6000rpm. I think I can sqeeze some more power out of them.

I've never dynoed it with the 10 psi or 15psi pulley.

FWIW

I've gotten 363rwhp out of a stock 93 injector (auto vigilante 2800 Vette) before the AFR's started to lift, and I've nevery really maxed out a 30 but have confortably seen 420rwhp. Even got a set of 30's to do 550rwhp once with a FMU (pre 2 bar days)

Dyno numbers are a relative thing though, Last thrusday I did a race car with 30 SVO's and the car only put down 375rwhp with a loose stall, 4.10 rear, and slicks but trapped 94.5mph last weekend in the 1/8th.

I reccomend everyone to talk to thier tuner before buying injectors. See what they reccomend. You shouldn't aim to have AFR's lift or max out an injector but at the same time its not a good thing to go with a unproven, over sized, unusual injector when a simple OEM (not stock but OEM) injector will do.

Remeber to take the calculated DC in Datamaster with a grain of salt. I've seen that thing wrong several times.

That's the truth. I think I was seeing around 110% DC on my stockers at one point.

If you don't have them already perhaps you can work something out with this person: http://web.camaross.com/forums/showthread.php?t=347461

Re: What size injectors are you running? Poll

have not dynod yet, but im running 42lbs green-top Ford Motorsports injectors with a Racetronix plug-n-play system.

keep in mind guys...........injector duty cycle is important!

sure a small injector can make a lot of power..........but are you risking your entire motor by running the injector at over 100% duty cycle?

ive read that running injectors at high duty cycle could cause a possible lockup, and reduced reliability

ive been advised not to exceed 80% duty cycle at max power to be safe.

maybe mr Racetronix or the experienced engine builders can comment on that.
