what temp your guys's lt1's run at?

i had post on here about my car spitting and bogging down when it gets hot, usually 210 or above. but it gets to 210 really quick, like 20 min. or so of driving. is this usual for lt1's or something to look into?

I would look into that, sounds like a bad thermo or a bad pump. Mine never goes above the first line on the gauge. What kind of driving does that happen in?

210 is not hot, and 20 min of driving to get there is, if anything, slow.

Mine runs at 175* with a 160* stat, but i agree, 210* is not too hot, if you were having a problem, i'm sure it would have overheated by now.

Whever mine gets up around 210 which is basically when the needle is perfectly vertical I get a little scared and flip on my fan switch. Only because I am afraid of blowing a head gasket. The only time mine gets up to around 210 is if I have been romping on it then got stuck in traffic or if I keep driving around in 1st like in a parking lot for a while.

180 to 185. 160 stat with the fans programmed to come on sooner.

stock as a rock lt1 and it never goes about 185 or the first tick mark, if mine went up that high I would start looking at figuring something out

Hey 94pheonix, Your temp and warm up time is normal. Stock t-stat is 180* Stock fan settings are: fan 1 starts up at 224 and fan 2 at 235. Running open road the air dam usually keeps temp at 180-190*. In stopped traffic you may see 224-235*. Also running the A/C keeps fan 1 running all the time so expect 180-200* with the A/C on. A lower 160* t-stat will only help on the open road thru the air dam , or reprogram fan on/off temps or install a manual fan switch..

Don't mean to highjack but Where/How do you go to Reprogram the Fans?

200-225 here. 160 stat and cooling fans reprogrammed, also have fan switch.
If you want the fans to come on eariler you need to have that programmed in the PCM tune.

A hypertech or similar tuner will have the ability to set fan 'turn on and off temps'
My hypertech did at least, until i tossed it out the window... and put my car back to stock.
lol
