what and where is the icm ?

It sits on the front of the driver's side cylinder head, the ignition coil is bolted to it. It controls the coil. Some people have had problems with it and heat and have spaced it away from the head.

The ICM receives timing signals from the PCM and then triggers the coil to fire.
