What are your 1/8 mile times
#17
I had some 255/50/16s on some salad shooters..(Street Tires)
But still had the 18s up front! So if I cut a 8.0 1/8th time, then I should be hitting atleast 12.50's correct?
Also how do you guys shift/launch when using an automatic.
I was talking to few guys at the track and some say keep it in 2nd, then just shift to 3rd(D).while others say just launch from 3rd(D)....
Any logic to one of the above? Thanks...

8.0 x 1.55 = 12.4 (very estimated).
What I mean't by tires are some drag radials or ET Streets (something intended for track use). If you intend to hit 8.0 you need something more appropriate than street tires unless you are Don Garlits.
Just leave the automatic in drive. Unless you have a manual valve body, let the car shift itself. At wide open throttle you probably don't need to worry about it shifting into overdrive. If that is possible, just leave it in 3rd.

Is there a chance that I can keep the 2" drop and still get good times??? If not then I have a set of Intrax Springs for sale for $100 + Shipping

You have to make some sacrifices, and decide what you want. Not everything has to be geared towards drag racing, or auto-x. A well rounded car is cool too. You can add other things to overcome the negative things... like the 2" drop, relocation brackets will help the 1/4 times. Or some sticky tires, or more HP, less weight, etc.
Unless you're building an all out drag car, you have some choices of what you do or don't want.
edit: What track you go to? I reccomend Norwalk. Great track and prep, you just might lose a few tenths if you've never been there.

I was thinking of buying this 3 piece Billet Aluminum set of Adj, PHR and Adj. LCAs for $129 shipped.....but I still need my front end painted....
This is the first time I've ever been to a track, I was gonna go to Norwalk, but Milan is only half the distance and the track was redone this year...

But I think drag radials should be the first thing you buy.
