Whats the correct Ft. Lbs torque for roller rocker studs?
Hi guys, I am replacing the OEM 3/8 studs with 7/16's. I went to Shoebox's webpage and I found out it requires 50 ft. lbs to secure them.
So I got me a brand new torque wrench from Sears and set it up for a 25 foot lbs to start with... I went real slow but I never got the torque wrench to click once and the stud was already sinking into the pushrod guide.
Am I doing something wrong? if I go 50 ft lbs on the aluminum head i will strip the thread fer sure!!
Is it supposed to be 50 inch lbs instead? Or could be the torque wrench defective? I got me a craftsman so I assumed I was getting a decent quality one.
Please let me know whats the correct torque required in Ft Lbs.. I will check the torque wrenche my self.
thanks
Marvin

it was the torque wrench!! I almost stripped the thread cause if I did hold the torque wrench head with one hand while pulling on the handle on with the other hand would make the wrench to not click at all.
I got me a replacement and it works just fine. easy 50 foot lbs with no drama while I was holding it at both ends
