What's the difference???

Hello everyone,
I did a search, so don't yell at me, but I'm trying to figure the difference between CAI and Ram Air. I'm interested in both, but I can't figure out which is better....can both be done?? What does everyone recommend??

Re: What's the difference???

Both give the about the same amount of power.

Go ram air if you wanna spend the money for hood and/or small modifications to allow the air in.

Re: What's the difference???

Ram air relocates the fliter just above the throttle body using a scoop in the hood to get the air. SS models and WS6 models get this.

Cold air induction is a fancy way of say stock air box replacement. Most systems isolate the filter down in the filter area and suck the cooler air close to the ground from underneath the car.

Either works great for our cars and it depends on whether you want to spend the 800$+ for the Ram Air set up or the 150$-200$ for the cold air.

Re: What's the difference???

cold air intake pulls cold air from underneath the car (usually).
ram air takes in cold air also. but at higher speeds the air is more forced into the filter and intake due to the ram air configuration on the vehicle.

Re: What's the difference???

I say go with a CAI. I have ram air on my car because i figured i got an SS hood what the hell i'll make it functional. My only real complaint on the Ram Air is you always have to take it off to do anything on your car. I've had them both CAI and Ram Air power differences are little to none.
