Whats the idle vacuum for an XE224/230 Cam?

Just wondering, I'm getting I believe about 15" to 16" with a slight needle wander (+\- 1") at idle ...

Oh, and it's a 112 deg lobe separation

my edelbrock performer cam (218/218) with stock tune idles with 12" at around 800 so the comp must be lower than that. we will see if the idle gets better after my chip comes in from PCMforless. I kind of chose a bad time to order from them because of dyno day

My XE 236/242 112 LS also pulls 12" of vacuum. I was quite surprised.

93 must have a much harder time with cams than 94 and ups

Lol, sorry about that. Sad part is the reason I put that dyno day together was for my car with the new motor, which didn't even get on the dyno because of issues. You over on the Speed Density board by chance??

Didn't mean to hijack though. Back to the topic at hand:

My 93 WITH bad compression and leakdown on two cylinders and a cracked ring land on a third cylinder was pulling 15-16" Hg of vacuum at idle. Sounds like you're about where you need to be. Mine was a 112 LSA too.

Interesting, I had excellent vacuum before my install (about 21 to 22" Hg. The fact that your car with the bad compression and leakdown would make me wonder if I should have a higher vacuum than 15-16" Hg with the cam..

I visit the SD board but I dont post there. I noticed there was some one with almost the same combo as my car on speed density, edelbrock heads, cam ect. I sure hope I hit a 116 trap like his car did! haha that seems a bit fast though.... from the ET I would think the trap speed would be more like 108-111mph.

I think he may have been spraying. I KNOW he was spraying when he ran 121 after swapping in a 230/236. N/A with that cam he was 112-114.
