Whats some good scanning tools.

I'm interested in buy a scanning tool for my car. Something that will also give me readings while i'm driving and read/delete codes. Whats some good things out there within a decent price range?

A caution - a lot of the links in that writeup are out of date, and no longer work. The AutoXray line of scanners has been changed around a bit also.

I've used FreeScan on my laptop using a cable from AKM Electronics. If you already have the laptop then you're just looking at the cost of the cable. (Both were mentioned in the link provided.) But that would do everything you were wanting.
