I suppose if I get a car to go that fast it probably won't have the stock computer in it anyways. I was just wondering if it was possible or not. I guess if I ever have that kind of money I'll try it out and let everyone know.

please let us know if there is a stretch of road in loranger (LA) that we could reach 255 mph without police problems and the possibility of killin 20 million cajuns?????????

You'll note that the current U.S. record, on a public street, is an average of 207.78mph with a top speed of "only" 220mph. The highest ever recorded speed on a public street was on the German autobahn in I think 1937. It was some where around 230+mph, the driver died after being blown off the course.

1988 callaway sledgehammer corvette does did 254.76mph on an oval track. 4 turbos, cam, 1003HP. milder cam was put in to make the car streetable, that gave 898HP.
Bugatti veyron (model #???) does 250mph and its a street legal production car, W16 with ~1000HP. 0-186mph in 14seconds flat on pump gas and street tires.
One day, I will beat it in my 1995 trans am
