I agree go the cheap route first, change out the sender. I had an 85 Camaro (2.8 M5) that every time I pushed in the clutch to stop the oil pressure dropped to ZERO. As soon as I'd dip back into the gas rasing rpm the pressure would jump back up to normal. I changed the sender and all was well again. Granted this was no Lt1, but just an example of how a bad sender can scare the bajeeba's out of you.

i got mobil 1 5w30. i just got the car back together this winter and i wasn't sure if that was low or not. i will probably just change my sender and see if that makes any differance. i noticed it more cause i got the roller rockers on and when it warms up there louder. but i guess i am close to where some of you are so that makes me feel better. does any one know the price from GM for a new sender part number if you got it.

runs smooth as could be......30-35 psi idle........40-45psi cruise.

80k 95 lt1..........oil and filter changed every 2.5-3k with Shell Rotella 15w40

rotella is the recommended oil for high usage diesel tractor trailers, and also by some turbo guys at garrett and KKK. (exceeds all requirements for regular gasoline engines)

if it can withstand that abuse, its gotta be good for my engine....and MUCH cheaper than mobil1.
