What's your rev lim set at?

Re: What's your rev lim set at?
6400, 6300, 6300 with a rev limit set at 6800. The hydra-rev helps big time up high. So do the 612 springs. I have a smaller cam than you and unported stock heads. I'll bet that thing makes usable power 300-400 rpm more than mine.

I would shift at 6800 then if I were you. That way, the OBD1 won't hit the max rpm of 7200 that's built into it. You probably won't see much et difference between 6800 shifts and 7000 shifts. You have to give the trans time to shift and usually people give about a 500 rpm cushion between shifts and rev limits.

what is the stock setting?> I hit rev limit at about 5500 on a 95 z28 with borla, MAF, intake, and dynotuning and it gets annoying. but probly doesnt make much power past that point anyways for me at least

With your setup, you could go pretty much as high as your engine can handle. You should be making usable enough TQ even in the 6500 rpm range to shift that high, or even higher. It all depends on what your valvetrain and bottom end can handle.

"Rev limiter at 5500ish" sounds like the opti. (speaking of which, mine is doing it right now ) A common way for a failing opti to show a problem is a noticeable dip of power around 5200 RPM, and with the stock tach showing about 300 more than actual RPM, sounds just like it.

Re: What's your rev lim set at?
1st- revlimit: 6800 shift @: 6400
2-6- revlimit: 6600 shift @: 6300
I gave myself enough room in 1st so that if it breaks the tires lose up top (which it usually does anytime in 1st) that I have room to let off or shift before hitting the limiter.
