Wheel Spacers .

When I got the car it has gold lite spring not sure of the drop and 18" welds star-5 wheels with 245-40-18. I noiced the back wheels have wheel spacers and longer wheel studs. I installed Goodyear F1 275-40-18 on the back and they rub a little. I rolled the fender and it fine with just me in the car not sure if more are in the car. I would love to remove the spacers, why are they there and can I remove them and install shorter whell studs. are they there to keep the wheel from rubbing the frame stop and if so can I install the offset ones.

Thanks

I have 18x10.5 rears with spacers because the big hammer could only move soo much of the inner wheel well I also have 3/16 front spacers because of longer & stronger studs that were from old "thick" rims and have no problems with them..why do you want or need to remove yours?
