IMO if the LT1 block is used it's still a LT1.

When it becomes a LS1
If you're David Copperfield I "guess" you could possibly turn an LT engine into an LS.

An LT-1 is the 70s engine the LT1 is the 90s one seems to be some confusion above about that.

An aquaintance has a Donovan aluminum block machined for reverse flow cooling, the WP drive, uses a stock opti, and reverse flow cooling heads. Is that an LT1?

but most conversions still need the opti for the signal for the injector pulse.
I have a oldskool rear mount distributer with a crank trigger for timing and the opti for fuel.
I still consider mine a LT1 since I have an LT1 block

I was going to ask about Jeff's Donovan/LT1 also

Is it an LT1 if you put AFR/Dart/etc heads on it? Personally I think the aluminum block converted to LT1 front counts.

Actually he made two of those blocks and sold one off. I am just waiting for that thing to pop up somewhere.

I don't know that heads are that big a deal, I mean few of the cars running converted heads are anything that noteworthy anyway. I can think of some turbo cars making amazing power on GM castings one just over 1000rwhp.

I think some of the cars that actually try and go fast using GM parts are the ones far more impressive, using knowledge to go fast over checkbook.

When you aren't allowed to race in the LTx shootout.
