My car failed smog, so I had a diagnostic thing done on it, and they said I need a new catalytic converter. They use OEM ones there, and wanted $200 for one. Is there anywhere I can go to get one for less? I only have about $160 and I still have to get my car re smogged after I get it put on.

Try looking in the for sale section. I have seen them go in their for like 40 bucks. Good luck

I would, but i'd rather go with a new one. Even if its a POS, it just has to last long enough to get through the smog test

I would say just get a used stocker. I think it will clean up emissions better than a new high flow one.

Ive heard really good things about Carsound Cats and you can get a universal one off ebay brand new for $45-$50 bucks(shipped).

Well, I have one of them hi-flow cats just sitting at the house. Bought it brand new and my exhaust man refused to put it on for me. Since Louisiana doesn't sniff yet, it hasn't been a problem.
