Who is A.R.E.

I have heard this name a couple of times (A.R.E. LT1 Heads) but am not sure who they are? Do they match the perf. of the L. E. heads? Any info would be great. thanks George

Sounds like Agostino Racing Engines in Toronto, Canada. They had a rep for building some decent LT1's, including some of the quickest back in the late 90's (Dave "SLED" DeLuca 9.15@ 155mph). They also are referenced very heavilly in Chris Endres's LS1 performance book.

But they appear to have fallen on hard times, and developed a reputation for delivering engines that were nowhere near specs, had used and mismatched parts, or even failing to deliver engines to people who had paid them thousands of dollars. There have been a few threads posted over the past year documenting some of the problems. You might want to do a "search" and review the posts before doing any business with them.

Trust me......... the best thing you can do is forget your ever heard of ARE. Just keep on walking. There are actually a few honest shops you can go to instead.

Re: Who is A.R.E.

A.R.E and Nu Tek once had great reps and a lot going for them but they comprimsed it one way or another. Its a shame because at one point, both did great work but the care isnt such any longer. If you want a motor built, theirs some great sponsors on this very board, like HPE In Houston. Theres also a shop called APE I believe, not asscoiated with ARE, they just did some people on heres motors, Fastbird93 being one of them, maybe he'll chime in with some insight.
