the coupler is the drive gear on the back of the waterpump housing that connects to gear connected the cam isnt it??

It is the sleeve that goes between the waterpump out put to the splined shaft comng out of the timing chain cover.

u mean to tell me there is a sleeve that connects the two gears together , if that is certain, then i have found my problem, thanks man

Geez, I mentioned this (#39) way up the page! I also asked you to verify coolant flow.

You should also be able to verify that you are getting circulation in the radiator after the thermostat opens, so you can verify that the pump is working. You didn't leave off the coupler on the water pump drive, did you?
You asked for more ideas and you either ignored or didn't read the ones already given. That would tend to make people wonder why they bother to give advice at all.

i feel like a complete idiot now, shoebox you dont know where i can find a coupler at do you, ive tried every part store around and they dont have it, and ive also tried junkyards and still no luck

GM PART # 10128334 for the coupler ~$30 retail, $18 wholesale at the dealer. Wonder what happened to your original one?

well the other one is either in the back of my sisters car, which is gone at the moment, or its in the box with the old waterpump that autozone has sent off,,, do you know the part numbers for the waterpump driveshaft seal, or does the seal come with the new coupling?
