Why does my fog light fuse keep blowing?

I have a set of the Pilot fog lights, the ones specifically made for the car. This started about a month ago, the fuse in that box under the hood on the driver side fenderwell blows within two minutes of putting a new one in. It's a 20 amp that I'm using, exactly what the stock one was. Nothing like this happened for the whole year that I've had them until now. Any ideas?

Not sure what the problem is, but where did you get those lights?

Do you have a part #?

Do they just plug in to the regular fog light plugs or did you have to splice them in? (Maybe you have a problem with one of them not being grounded properly if you spliced them in.)

1. Did you replace one of the bulbs lately and maybe put a higher wattage bulb in?
2. How did you splice into the existing wiring? Did you use butt connectors or electrical tape? Elec. tape could have come off and exposed the wire.

just a couple of thoughts.

The fuse is a safety valve. You probably have a direct short from the positive (feed) side to ground. Start looking where you installed the lamps (connectors, splices etc.) for hot wires touching ground. In blowing the fuse two minutes after the lamps are switched on may indicate a vibration allowing a bare wire or connector to ground itself.

you must have a bare wire somewhere. If not, there may be a break in the positive wire somewhere that you cannot see.
If that's not it, check to see what else runs on the same fuse? maybe something else is causing it. In my old 3rd gen, the cigarette lighter broke and it caused my horn and power windows/locks not to work and blow the fuse,

I didn't have to splice anything. I don't have the part number on the lights, but they are the ones that were made specifically for the '93-'97 Camaro and they use a connector that matches up to the stock end.

In that case, I would say they are pulling too much current for the fuse. I would check the amps going through that circuit with a meter. If you just try a bigger fuse, you will risk burning up the wiring.
