why are my dyno numbers so low???

Well, thinner gaskets actually do help. You make more compression, which is a good thing.
Did you degree your cam in?
You lucky you made that power being that you still have the stock exhaust manifolds.

I help out at a local dyno shop and we don't get even close to these numbers...now we got a "tired" LT1 with 160K miles being bone stock that makes 270 rwhp...who you kidding here? Is this the let's make LT1's bullshOt rwhp day?
But OHIO is the land of the slowest cars and the lowest hp cars....yeah, were on a mountain....not...110 deg average days....not...tracks suck...not...drivers suck...not...

Throw in a set of headers and you'll have it made. Grease on this board used to have the same cam with long tubes, and made around 330 HP. BTW...hopefully this thread doesn't get locked because some people can't controll their anger

Thats what I tried to say. I host Dyno Days here in San Antonio. I have probably seen at least 40 different cars dyno about 120 pulls. I have never seen the numbers some have indicated with there bone stock LT1's.

I don't think you're too far off considering the mods you have. You will pick up quite a few ponies with a set of headers and a decent cat-back system.
225 RWHP stock?? LOL
LT1's vary a lot for some reason on dyno's stock (tolerances from the factory)_Some people just get luckier than others... You sure as hell cannot take GM's h.p. ratings, and try adding drivetrain loss to get RWHP.
245-250RWHP on a M-6 is normal.

As far as the head gaskets go, a thinner head gasket will effectively RAISE the compression ratio. It will NOT be much, but it will raise it a little, and higher compression=more horsepower. It may have only gone from 10.5:1 to 10.6:1, but hey every little bit counts.

I'm thinking the numbers look about right to me. I wanted to dyno my car the other day at our state shootout, but just couldn't spare the cash.
I'm thinkin 290rwhp.
But for me, horsepower, I could give a rat's ***...I want timeslips. But, that's just me I guess.
And, as far as high mileage making more HP...I do believe that. I've got 160K on mine and it runs like a CHAMP!! Seems every pass I take on the track I'm picking up close to a mph...and I'm not doing anything different to the car!

I watched a 94 Trans Am convertible A4 with ONLY a moroso cold air intake make 250hp at the wheels a couple weeks ago. There was also an M6 95 Z28 with a K&N filtercharger and a flowmaster muffler make 278hp. Both of these cars went back to back to make sure the results were accurate. However in my case, I only put down 283hp with a ram air box, edelbrock headers and flowmaster cat back. Then again, my HP NEVER PEAKED as I had a burnt wire, but my torque did, at 330ft/lbs

My buddies Z which is a M6 with just CAI, and Corsa made 280RWHP and 312LB/FT, not to bad for what it had....Another had a T/A made 260 and 300 or so I think with his A4....He was basically stock, if you call a Cutout a Mod.....
Why can't you launch a CC306 Car with stock gears?....I haven't been to the track yet, but I can tell you my 60' times aren't going to be affected negatively.. I am running the stock 3.42's and they launch just fine...
