Wierd Oil Pressure

I just got my motor rebuilt about a month ago. I havent driven it too much but last night I decided to watch my oil pressure guage when I put it to the floor and what happens is the oil pressure climbs consistantly to about 60psi then it drops quickly to 20psi and then quickly bounces back to 60psi and stays there. When im just cruising it stays at about 60psi and it idles hot at 20psi. I dont think it should be doing this what is wrong?

Re: Wierd Oil Pressure

My car did that on the stock motor for as long as I had it. It never spun a bearing or had any oil related problems other than the weird oil pressure. It's kind of a phenomenon among these engines and I don't think anyone has explained it yet.

Re: Wierd Oil Pressure

I have a 95 Z28 and when I start my car the pressure is around 60psi then once it warms up the pressure hangs around 20psi . It will go up to 60psi while accelerating and it fluctuates with the rpm's .so I think your car is just like every other camaro with an LT1 . It's just one of those things . Idon't have any problems so neither should you .good luck with your ride...
