i ran my car when it was stock (on the 1/8th), with a worn clutch and it ran a 9.48@68mph...after doin headers, stage 2 clutch, 4.10's with auburn posi set up with race springs, and the ram air...last night it ran best of 9.28ET ...all that work and only 3 tenths faster...now the wierd part...it ran the 9.28@77mph...almost 10mph faster than from when it was stock...im on the same tires as before just with 6k more miles on them...but they have been rotated regularly...i was fighting traction all night, so that could be the problem...the tires would break loose so much in 2nd, that the car would actually hit rev limit right after the shift...so i had to baby it in 2nd...could never floor it in first...and it would bark 3rd and 4th....i dunno...with the trap almost 10mph faster...i expected better ET...btw...60 foots when from stock 2.2 sec, to last nights best of 2.1...here are complete times

stock:
60 ft: 2.249
ET@594 ft: 8.835
1/8 ET: 9.488
1/8 MPH: 68.92

after mods:
60 ft: 2.178
ET@594ft: 8.699
1/8th ET: 9.286
1/8 MPH: 76.65

anyway...just wondering if this is due to traction problems...cause something isnt right it seems to me...BTW my faster time was a single run with my freind who is 220 lbs

I think maybe your poor times to begin with were due to the car being out of tune. Did you replace the plugs/wires when you did headers? If the old ones were in bad need of replacement that could have helped.

Another thing, maybe your timeslip was somehow screwed up? Looking at your first run, I dont' think 68mph is enough to run mid 9s with a 2.2X short time.

Anyway, just to give you a reference, my best with a K&N intake, meziere pump, SLP headers, off road pipe and flowmaster catback was 9.0@81.65 through a stock auto.

yes i replaced the plugs with tr-55's...and taylor over the vavle cover wires...car has not been tuned for the mods yet...so mabye thats it...but i ran the car two different weekends, total of about 12 runs when it was stock..and the max mph it ran stock was 69.?? mph...the fastest i ran last night was a 78mph trap, and never below 75mph...im thinking with a good tune, and bigger tires it will really help...right now my tires are 245/50/r16's ...there pretty hard tires...sumitumo's z rated to 150
