Will a 97 z28 Engine Wire Harness work on a 95 z28? If not what can?
I need to replace my engine wire harness on my 95 z28 auto and having a hard time locating one. Will a 97 z28 harness work? If not, what about 94-96. Was told maybe Caprice Roadmaster, firebird,Trans am (certain years) would also work if they had a LT-1.
Everyone is telling me different and need to know the correct info.
Thanks

The wiring is old and brittle, stripped, shorting out, wire exposed all around in bad shape. Car is misfiring, missing on multiple cyl, shaking, right side lean. The problem is in the wire harness between pcm and injectors. was told to be better to just replace due that majority of the wiring going to injectors and sensors is in bad shape.

You will have problems mating the 97 engine harness to the 95 chassis connectors. The pinouts are different. You could probably do some rewiring at the connectors. Shoebox has the pinouts for various years:

1994 is the closest the only difference i see is the 94 has no TCC PWM wire. Which I dont know what has to be done with that

The TCC PWM wire is only important if you have a 95 or newer 4L60E. You can add the wire if that's what you have.
You should add a "signature" with basic info about your car - year, model, engine, trans and any major mods. That way the info gets added at the bottom of every post.

A 97 should work fine in place of a 95. As someone already suggested check the pinouts. But I'm almost certain that 97 has all the correct wires you need for you 95 car. The only differences will be some additional wires for the obd2 stuff I think there will be an extra plug leftover for an oxygen sensor your car doesn't have. I think the main difference of the big bodied cars wiring will be that they have 2 knock sensor but I think they would still work. You would likely have to add wires if you were going to use a 95 harness in a 97 car but I think you should be fine using a 97 in a 95.

Listen to Rob and Freds advice and get a 95 harness...I have a local guy here I deal with,I will ask him if he has a 95 harness.
