will my h/c lt1 have a chance on sts ls1?

long story short, my car runs a 13.1 at 110 with a 2.1 60' (see sig for mods) I don't know what my hp numbers are but a friend is building his 2000 ss auto with an sts turbo setup with methanol on high boost of 8 lbs.

What do I need to do to have a chance on this guy?

I would suggest gong to LSx boards and do some research regarding what kind of ET's people are running w/ that setup.
My guess would be you wouldn't have a snowball's chance in hell. A stock LSx f-body can pretty much run your ET's in stock form (if not better? I dunno...). If he trees and/or gets a good hole shot on you I believe you would be done.

I havent gotten my car to hook up yet, but once it does I am hoping that the almost 110mph trap speed is a sign that my car is faster than 13 seconds. when he had the setup on his lt1 I had him by 3 1/2 cars. I know its a completely different world on an LS1, but I just can't let this guy get me.

Most LS1's can get into mid 12's with bolt-ons, I'd imagine even better with a turbo.

You don't really have a chance here.

There was a local guy that put on a STS kit on his 2000 SS automatic....had a couple of other mods, nothing big, but it ran high 11's@125 mph.

Hooking good you should be in the mid 12's range. As already stated by someone else who has seen some times I too know of a person who had the STS kit on his auto LSx f-body. I think it may of had a cam. Can't remember, but was running in the 10.9 range in the high 120's.
However... he was dynoing one day and the dipstick kinda blew out which is never a good sign.
So yeah... maybe if you bet you'll beat him one out of maybe 30 or less tries you'll win eventually.

Ai 200cc package, a good tune, sticky tires, and a little luck.

Since it's an auto you don't have a chance. 110mph isn't even enough for a bolton LS1 so an LS1 with forced induction won't even be a race.

well if you can get your 60ft down to 1.8x's you should be running high 12's @110 12.60-12.90's depending on a few variables. Than from there you would need a 75-125 shot to put you into the mid/hi 11's.
How good of a driver is this guy? Do you know what kind of 60fts hes cutting?
Ima asking because even if you throw on a 100 on top of your h/c setup i still dont think your going to have more hp than him. So where your going to win the race is in the first 60ft of the track. And even if you cut a 1.8 and he does a 1.9 or 2.0 your still toast.
YOu need MT dr's and a n20 kit and a bible to remember prayers for the sake of your rearend.

he'll need more than 2 or 3 tenths to cover him. that car may short time bad if he can't drive, but he'll drive right around him at the big end.

well, I can say for sure that he has never been to a track and doesn't leave too quick. It takes him 60 feet to start goin i would say. I am running nitto DR's and just learned this past saturday at the track that they want to be boiled before they will hook, but only had one pass to test that theory. 4.11 rear gears are leaving me worried in the first place, a bottle may make things a lot worse. I am considering selling my car and getting an LS1 car now. not just because of this guy but they are just too fast compared to my car now plus I have smog to deal with
