Re: Will not go over 4000 rpms
Here is what you should do. Take the car to an auto parts store that tests batteries and alternators on the car and make sure they are in perfect working order. Does not sound like my issue, but start simple and eliminate the cheap stuff. A weak charging system can affect how the fuel pump works. Then buy a fuel pressure ($25-$35) gauge with the longer hose and drive the car with it hooked up and see what the pressure does when the car is acting up. This way you spend money, but on the most useful things an LT1 owner should have. It hooks to the schrader valve and runs up through the cowling and can been seen with the hood closed. Curious what you see!

There's a "sticky" at the top of the LT1 Based Engine Tech forum with some info about testing the Opti.
Note that if it is a problem with the optical cam postion sensor in the Opti, it will set codes - have you scanned if for codes? If its the cap and rotor, there are no codes that will be set. Cap could be suffering from burned contact, carbon tracking, moisture or oil intrusion. Rotor may have a loose screw, or a burned tip.
