Will a Spec St. II from my Z fit a 66 Chevelle SS?

My uncle has the 396 out of the velle right now and a mild 350 in its place and he needs a new clutch. I was just curious if my Spec Stage II clutch would fit infront of that muncie 4 speed he has? I'm not sure how many splines it has on it, i thought maybe somebody on here would know if it would or not.

As far as I know, the LT1 clutch is unique because it is a "pull back" design.... the clutch is released by moving the T/O bearing to the rear.... pulling it back. That is exactly the opposite of virtually every other chevy SB, including the LS1, which use clutches that release when the T/O bearing is "pushed" forward. Unless you swapped the complete hydraulics and the T56 with the mount/fork for the pull back design, it isn't going to work. Of course to put the T56 behind a Gen 1 SB, you would need the new McLeod "universal" bellhousing, or one of the other kits available for conversion.
