Will trick flow heads lower my compression??

Will trick flow heads lower my compression??
I basically have a stock lt1 engine with a turbo system. Will those trick flow heads lower my compression if so how much???? Also how much Rwhp should I gain with these heads??? - I understand I can get more hp porting my heads, etc, etc. I just basically want to know about these trick flows -- on how much power they will make and lowering my compression ratio --

Re: Will trick flow heads lower my compression??
that depends on a few things. If you buy trick flows with a 64cc chamber and bolt them on you stock short block you will lower your compression by quite a bit. But you can have them milled to 54-58cc's and bring your compressin back up to stock. Out of the box the 195 TFS heads flow pretty decent. About what a set of mildly ported LT1 heads flow. But you can buy a set like I just bought and have them made to order. 220cc cnc port, 2.08/1.60 valves big springs for my solid roller, and they flowed 315+ cfm...
Just depends on how much you want to spend.
Buy a set and have them milled to get the chambers back to stock size and you will have a much better head than stock.
HP all depends on the rest of your motor and what been done to it.

trick flow has a article saying the heads made over 40 more hp then stock heads on a 383 stroker http://www.trickflow.com/product/che...lt1/pr_lt1.asp

it also depends on the gasket used(and the head purchased). if you use a thick gasket you'll lower the compression (assuming this is what you want for the turbo setup). you can buy shims to increase the gasket thickness on top of that.
the chamber is what really matters though. i think stock is either a 54cc or 62cc...depending on year and model (lt1/4/vette/camaro...whatever). if you buy the 72cc TF heads you'll decrease compression.

My Summit Trickflows are 62cc vs the stock 54cc.
Using a felpro 1074 gasket which has a .039" compressed thickness Vs. the stock LT1 gm gasket which is thicker..at .049"
4.00" bore
3.48" stroke
.039" compressed thickness
4.125 gasket diamter
62cc chamber head
-6.3 cc valve piston
9.025" deck
= 9.74 : 1 SCR
4.00" bore
3.48" stroke
.049" compressed thickness
4.125 gasket diamter
62cc chamber head
-6.3 cc valve piston
9.025" deck
= 9.51 : 1
