wipers won't work sometimes

The other day i hopped in my trans am, and did the wipers once to clean off the dew. Later that day I tried to wipe my windsheild and they didn't work. The next day, i tried them again and they worked. Today i tried them and they don't work. Is there a fuse weak or wire loose or what?

Did you ever get your wipers working?

When I first bought my car in August 2002, the wipers only worked on high, so I replaced the motor. They worked ok after that, except that the wiper on the driver side goes past the windshield and when the wipers are on they rest about 8 inches from the bottom of the windshield, right in my line of view. I checked the size and even took the car to a dealer to see if there was a problem but they weren't able to do anything. Annoying, but at least the wipers worked.

Then a couple months ago I went to turn on the wipers and they didn't work. Next time I turned the car on, they worked. A few days later I had them on and they just stopped. Oddly enough, the windshield wiper setting will always make the wipers go even when the regular settings won't do anything. I called around and was advised to get the circuit board replaced, which I was told was a dealer only part, so I took it to a dealer to get it fixed. For a couple days the wipers worked. Today they weren't working again, so I guess it's something else.

I heard it could be the switch that needs to be replaced. I don't know anything about that though.

That's a good idea, but I'm pretty sure the wipers have will have to work to pass inspection.

Re: wipers won't work sometimes

Did any of you guys ever get this figured out? I'm having the same problem. The odd thing is sometimes i can turn my car off and then right back on again and they will work. The same thing with my cruise control. I'm thinking it might be a combo of the cruise control lever and windshield wiper switch.

nope. Seems a little better now though. My cruise control did have issues one time but now it doesn't but it probably is a combo.
