woohoo! finally got a friggin code for my stumblin maybe, whats it mean??

I scanned my computer, there was no SES light but i scanned it anyway.

It read out this code

P0322 Ignition/Distributor Engine Speed Circuit No Signal

What does this mean, and how do i fix it, where to look?? Is this my opti, i HOPE NOT i just replaced it a month ago because of the stumbling!! It can't be my opti, is there a harness or some wiring to check, if so, what ones??
I have a scanmater the RPM reads fine and the tach is good, how does the PCM not know the engine speed?

Keep in mind, I replaced the plugs, wires, ICM, opti, and coil.
ANd I did these changes ONE AT A TIME to see if it effected the car, after every change the car acted the same. THese leads me to believe these components are working properly.....

Thanks!

Brian

Are you sure it was P0322? From my information, that is not a valid code for our cars. If it was P0323, it was from the opti.

I'm 100% sure it is P0322, I looked it up on

http://www.obdii.com/

and plugged in p0322, and it came out what I posted above.

This code was read out right from the PCM with my scanner, it did not set off an SES light though.

And i highly doubt it's the opti, i can't belive 2 opti's would be bad the EXACT same way with a stumble in the EXACT same rpm range and such..... If it's the opti, i'm selling the car i'm done to much work to get something running right, more frustration man.

My car really stumps everyone eh?? I'm lucky i guess

UPDATE: just went into the garage and scanned it again, yep P0322 it is.

I don't know what to tell you. P0322 does not appear in an F-body service manual. There is no diagnostic tree for such a code.

I just looked up that p0323 code, it's the same code as what I have except it says "intermittent" instead of "no signal" all the other wording is the same.

Shoebox, in your fault tree, is there anything else to check besides the opti, or is it just wiring directly to the opti. Is there a voltage source that maybe I can check?? Or some harnesses??

Corrosion on either end of the opti harness is always a suspect.
