Is it worth it?

Okay, I recently found a 1993 Camaro Z28 A4. It's totaled, and it comes at a good time as well. My 1994 3.4l Camaro just died, and winter is coming, so it could make for an interesting winter project. Basically we are going to rent out a heated garage and put the 2 cars next to each other and swap the z28 to a dead 3.4l and the dead 3.4l to a Z28. Only thing is the guy wants 2200 dollars for the wrecked Camaro. It has 108000 miles, and is no in anyway fixable. Has new tires, brakes, etc. Everything needed for the swap is good condition. It runs great, and everything needed is intact as stated before. What are your guys' thoughts about this, is 2200 too much? I was thinking about offering 1700 or so off the bat and see if he will take it. Thanks for anyhelp guys.

-Eric

Why do you want to put the 3.4L in a wrecked car, if it isn't fixable? I was thinkng maybe a little over a grand, like $1300. Good luck

I think low-balling the guy might tempt him to tell you where to stick your offer.

If the engine and drivetrain are in good shape, that's worth close to a couple grand in itself, and you can keep or sell everything else off the car. I think your $1,700 offer isn't unreasonable.

Honestly, I think you should save the money, sell the 3.4 for as much as you can get for it (or find another 3.4 and swap it in) and buy yourself a good Z. Trust me, by the time you'll get deeper in accomplishing this, you will regret everything. I've been through the same...
