Right now I'm looking into getting a cam (my engines out)...I was thinking the hotcam kit (becuase its cheap and it comes with everything I need) or a cc305 (but thats more expensive)...How much does it cost to get the XE cam w/ some 1.6" rr's. Also, if I get self aligning rr's, does it really make that much noise?...How much did it cost you guys to buy all the stuff for your cam swap?

All said and done (XE cam, CSI, Cloyes, Pro Mags, springs, p-rods, PCMFORLESS, and so forth, plus gaskets, RTV, coolant, oil, blah, blah), I spent somewhere around $1200 - $1400.

Yes, it is cheaper when compared directly part for part. But keep in mind you're still going to need another couple hundred bucks for supplies and possibly tools, as well as beer and medical supplies

You guys should check out crowers line of cams for our cars. They have a interesting selection and they were very helpful when I need to identify a custom grind that bought here off of the board.
