Is XE 224/230 good for daily driving?

Is XE 224/230 good for daily driving?
I am rebuilding to a 383 and would like to know if the XE 224/230 pretty decent for daily driving. What is the powerband in this cam like? I am getting valve work and new springs, but no porting or anything. I have all the other bolt ons to back this cam up however.
