Where do I find these "XE" cams? I've looked through the CompCams catalog to no end, and all I see are XE-R aggressive lobe cams for the LS1. There are about 7 cams listed under the LT1 section - they are the Xtreme Energy type, but say nothing about the aggressive lobes. Are these the same?
Does anyone actually have part numbers for the LT1 XE cams?

xe cams are considered to have "aggressive lobes" and alot of people complain about them being hard on the valvetrain. but you dont ever hear about people who actually run the cams having problems with the valvetrain. i ran my 230/236 with stock lifters and pushrods. no big deal.

The numbers are SAE. The correction factor was .99 and absolute barometric pressure was 29.95.
I ordered the cam at thunderracing and had it ground on a 114lsa for two reasons: emissions friendly and possibility of a power adder.

Glad you are happy ith the results. pretty good #'s.
A 110-112 LSA would probably help the #'s a little but you are right, emissions would be slightly worse. With a cam that size, passing the emissions test will be tough anyway. If it does pass, the 114 LSA hekped quite a bit.
Good example of what a little tuning will do. 15-20 HP and a fatter the TQ curve is always a good thing.

Sad isn't it but that's just how the 3200 series lobes are, they do not make power at high rpm's. The cam makes great power down low, fast, hard and very street able. On our dyno day one other person with a XE cam, larger one, had a similar power band where the cam just drops off after 6100 rpm. If reveing high and peaking at about 7000 rpm is what you want defiantly go with the magnum cam 3100 series lobes, might be wrong on the numbers.
I run Comp 987 springs, and the power does not drop off noticeably from the peak at about 6200. I took mine to 6400, and it was still making serious power.
If you want to rev, the 3300 series would probably be better. With the 3100 series higher lift lobes, you need more spring to comtrol the valves, and the lifters might not hold up too well to the added pressure.

llafro, your absolutly right, yes it acts like a hotcam at low rpm and it acts closer to it's own numbers when the rpm's go up. The lift numbers are quiet low, .510 .520 I belive on 1.5 rocker ratio!

i even tapped my 7k rev limiter twice after missing a shift.
yes, i had this cam before. with a 3.42 gear, stock throttlebody, and self ported heads, i ran 7.98 @ 92mph in the 1/8. never ran it in the 1/4.
