I love the 82-92 bodystyle and the GN powerplant to run it. I've been down the small block/nitrous road in the past and it just isn't effecient enough of a setup to be driven daily.
Now I can get 20mpg be very quiet and run mid 10's on pump gas on a drag radial.
That's why Iv'e stuck with the little V6 and a turbo. I hope to run a 9.99.99 on pump gas once the air cools down and I feel comfortable turning the boost up a little bit
At the moment my turbo's a touch too big and the stall's a bit too low but those are thing's I'll change this winter to be able to launch right and not wait for boost at the line forever.
Looking forward to the event,
Scott~
Make that 2 fbody GN hybrids going. Although mine is a work in progress.

If you did that, it would just be a mess of imports and Fords, and nobody wants that.

If it were my event, anything with a GM engine would be welcome.

Even a Civic with 6" neon tips and StreetGlow/APC stickers top to bottom?

That would give the SS Cobalts someone to beat up on

Disclaimer: I think the SS Cobalt is a nice car... just would not want to drag race one.

I have a 89 Nissan Maxima that I put a GN turbo on and stock GN IC with the Inlet/outlet's changed (as a front mount) programmed the ECM with a Romulator.
It's run 13.40@107.89mph but it's a absolute disaster to try and launch. If anything it's taught me that FWD is much more difficult to drive and build for any kind of drag racing.
Hat's off to the guy's that make them go!
I'd have a Grand Prix in a second and ditch that POS super charger for a custom turbo setup. I think that'll be one of my next projects.
Can't wait till the 4th,
Scott~

Good luck an making the transmission live in the Grand Prix. We have a couple of guys in the Pontiac Club that can make them run 11's, but they have a habit of blowing up the transmission during their burnouts.

Didn't GM do a turbo Grand Prix? I remember taking a drive in one maybe 10 years ago.

They sure did ... It was a 3.1L single turbo setup... Kind of crude but it worked... The limitation there is the 3.1 engine... it's just too weak of a setup to make good power out of for extended duribility.
I think a fwd daily driver in the 11's would be a blast! I've seen one at martin MI going 11.50's-11.70s just a built trans and rocker arms/turbo kit. NICE!

HE ran my wife in a heads up class ... He about $hit his pants when the Typhoon took off and put 7cars on him Lol.. he out powered her on the big end and pulled out the win... My wife cut a .502 light... She's awsome..
He went 11.7x to her 13.01. Fun night..

I've been so nervice to hook it up the wire to it has just been zip tied to the fill tube all year.
It sure brings the boost up quicker and to a higher number than the regular foot brake.

I just hope the word "Brake" does not end up beaning Break!!!

TurboBuick.com has more pic's and discriptions under "Hybrids" section... we moved the firewall back 3.5" Tubular K member/arms full cage double GN IC up front smoothed pipes that are built into the unibody ect ect.. neat car with ALOT of time and effort from both of us.

Cool man. I'll have to check it out on the 4th then.

I talked to Chris (owner of Mustang) and he's not sure if he'll have time to finish the steering.
I'm still going with the Camaro... Hope Chris will be able to go to events with me next year.... It's been a long project that I'll be glad to see him enjoy.

As far as I know 3bBuick isn't planning on attending, he was talking about tearing down his car and getting it ready for next year. Last we spoke that is. Dave's car hooks it will be a show and half right there, even with the wheelie bars. Hoping to be there, would like to tune before going, see if that happens this weekend or not. Should be there with the non intercooled if all the planets are aligned and the moon is in the right spot. Been one of those years.
