[event] American Iron Shootout 2 - May 17th 2003
Fellow race enthusiast,
I am pleased to announce that the American Iron Shootout 2 will officially take place on May 17th, 2003 at Cecil County Dragway in Maryland.
This event main objective is to raise money for two worthy causes. The EdBlock Association, who with the help of many bring smiles across the United States to help abused children and The NYPD widows and orphans fund, despite it being over 1 year since the tragic events of 9/11, our focus to help those that are still in need must remain.
In April 2002, we held our very first American Iron Shootout at CCD and turned out to be a great success with monies being raised for the Make A Wish Foundation and the Red Cross 9/11 fund.
We were able to crown the first American Iron Shootout champion who will be back this time around to defend his title. Many want a crack at getting the title and on May 17th, 2003, the opportunity will present itself.
This event is shaping out to be bigger and better then it's predecessor. Already we have $3000.00 to give away in cash and our staff is working hard on getting additional prizes to hand out in this event. There will be various classes and contests all paying out in one way or another. Here are the classes:
THE ULTRA QUICK 8 CHALLANGE - WINNER TAKES ALL $1500.00
OPEN COMP (RACE WHAT YOU BRUNG) - $500.00 (WINNER) $150.00 (R/U)
STREET TIRE 1 (13.99 OR FASTER) - $250.00 (WINNER) $50.00 (R/U)
STREET TIRE 2 (14.00 OR SLOWER) - $250.00 (WINNER) $50.00 (R/U)
REACTION TIME CONTEST (OPEN TO ALL) $50.00 (WINNER)
BURNOUT CONTEST (VOTING BY JUDGES) $200.00 (WINNER)
Winners of Street 1, Street 2 and Open Comp will advance to the King Of The Hill eliminations.
Also, added to this event will be the Six Pack Nationals. If you are packing 6 pistons in your vehicle, this race is for you. The winner of this event will automatically move on to the King Of The Hill eliminations where the NEW 2003 American Iron Shootout Champion will be crowned.
You can pre register for this event to guarantee your spot. There has been a car limit set for this event to ensure that everyone has a great time.
Registration is only $35.00 dollars, but we also offer special group rate discounts. Please take a moment to visit our official website at http://www.americanironshootout.com

Hey Tony, count me in! Liz is graduating from college that weekend but I'm 99.9% sure its Sunday. So Sat I'll be there with you guys to race. OC for me, or should I slap on some dr's and clean house in the RT class... hmmmmmm. I'll pre-register as soon as I know 100% sure when her graduation is. I'm really looking forward to it this year since I had that wedding to go to last year and missed it.

Bring it on biatch!!! Her graduation is on the 18th so it looks as though I'll be free to race on the 17th. But i wont have anything to worry about, cause we all know you wont be "way ahead" next year. I'm marking it on the calander right now! I guess now all I have to do is renew my paypal so I can register, lol.

Jim, probably just going to run in OC. The dragradial thing doesnt work for me. I have problems on et streets. When the time comes, I'll be in touch, we can meet up somewhere and cruise together. Right now I more concerned with getting this garage up. Was out there today playing with a Bobcat trying to level the dirt. Man, that load of dirt I got is full of clay and hard as hell to handle. Its a real mess out there, I hope I am not in over my head... cause I spent 2 hrs on it and it just looks like a huge muddy mess in the backyard, Guess next year I'll have to plant grass too...

Brian, I plan on running ET streets with the Turbo 400 this year. For this event I''ll do a test and tune to see how I do on 4 radials. The 315 are getting pretty worn and are starting to hook. If I can be consistant I'll run both classes. If I have problems I'll run open. My back yard still looks like mars. Really can use the a bobcat back there too. Have a great x-mas and see ya in the spring.

See youz there.

I'd like to try and make it down but I'm not so sure it'll happen!
The 17th is the last points day for the 1st 1/2 at Atco. I am sure that my Nova will not be ready, but there is a possibility that I run the Jeep in the Run what you brung class and the Reaction time contest... I've been known to pop out a few .500 lights footbraking it...
