How strict is NYI about roll bars?

In my search for traction I may have to start looking for a 12 bolt. Since I dont have the $$ Im going to have to unload some "uncessary" parts...the first being my 4 point cage.

How strict is NYI about roll bars in general, ie bolt in, 6 point, etc. My 4 point isnt legal at all and it this point just dead weight. Am I gonna get tossed for not having one?

What is the exact rule for roll bars anyway?

11.49 or quicker for a hardtop. NYIRP isn't "lax" but if your car is clean, you don't drive like a jerk, and don't run too much faster than the cutoff they will probably let you pass. My car, in theory, needs a full cage due to the MPH (135 or more), but I haven't had a problem. I try to drive "professionally", pay attention to the officials, no huge smokey burnouts, etc. My buddy Joe is another example. He was running high 9's last year. Faster than 9.99 requires a full 12-point cage, and he was running an 8-point bar with no trouble.

You will be doing well to hit 11.49 or better, so I think you will be fine.
